You have image, credits, title, you have sounds, now it's time to blend them all in with editing details, maybe adding some special effects, creating special overlaid sequences, symbolically coloured shots:
- Create any special effects you need. Explain why and how you created those specific special effects. (For some inspiration and fun, look on this instagram account which shows the before and after of special effects in movies: https://www.instagram.com/movies.effects/)
- Colour grade your opening – edit colours, brightness and contrast.
All of these need to be documented through screenshots you take every step along the way.
Then, you look back at it and see if it's the editing you needed for your particular film opening:
- Explain the relationship between credits and images.
- Why is your editing appropriate for your genre & audience?
- How is sound and music combined with image and special effects? (if any)
Now you are almost there! Your film opening is quite complete. Before wrapping it up, you should have it shared with others for feedback. See next post why and how.
