Now that you read the syllabus and understand what is necessary to create this year, you can have an honest look at where you are right now.
WHAT I KNOW - What do you know already to do?
List all the skills and abilities you already have and are useful for our course. It is important to recognise your skills and abilities, as they would be very helpful in anything you do this year for sure.
WHAT I NEED TO KNOW - What do you still need to learn?
List all the skills and knowledge you need to acquire in order to succeed in the course this year - maybe film editing, or recreating sounds for your film opening? Or using a Dslr photo camera for your photoshoots in order to get high quality photos for your magazine? What about Photoshop?
Compare what you know with what you see that needs to be created, identify those skills and attitudes that you might need to develop throughout the year in order to achieve.
WHAT I WANT TO KNOW - What I am curious to learn and experiment with?
List all the techniques and types of media you wish to explore and learn more about.
Maybe you want to know how to create Tik Toks, or how to use a green screen. You might not use these for exam, but you want to learn them nonetheless. You are more than welcome to come up with this type of initiatives! Let your tutor know and you will get guidance on this as well, as side work if you wish.
