The magazine is done, you can take it out into the world, to meet its first audience. It is very helpful to share it with others for feedback. Of course, your friends and family might be inclined to just say its wonderful, but ask them to be as objective as they can.
See if they can answer to these questions for you to understand where your magazine stands in relation to a real life one:
- If you would see this cover on a magazine stand, would it attract your attention? Why/why not?
- Looking at the table of contents, does it seem realistic? Would you expect to find this kind of content in this particular magazine genre?
- By the way, what genre do you think this magazine is? What makes you say that?
- How engaging do you find the feature article? Was it inspiring/useful/meaningful for you to read it? Why/why not?
- Overall, does it look like a magazine to you? If yes, following your own taste, would you buy such a magazine? Why/why not?
Getting feedback might be difficult, see how you can keep your focus on what matters - all these answers can be opportunities for you to improve your work and make it even more wonderful than it already is. Use this opportunity also to build confidence and acceptance of mistakes in you.
Write in this post a summary of all the feedback you received and how it might impact or not your final work.Write here any changes you will make based on the feedback you got.
