The first step in defining your Target Audience is to create a questionnaire that will help you gather some insights into who your audience can be - what demographics and psychographics define it.
Create the questionnaire using Google Forms and share it with friends, and kindly ask them to share it further with other people, to get at least 50 responses*.
Make sure you find out at least the answers to the questions below. Of course, you should be more specific and ask whichever questions you feel will help you get to know better your target audience' preferences.
For Film Opening:
What age are they?
What genres of movies do they like?
Where do they usually watch movies? (cinema, online: which websites, etc.)
What socio-economic group do they fit into? What about psychographics? In which of the following groups do they think they fit into: explorer, aspirer, succeeder, reformer, mainstream, struggler, resigned?
What type of film openings do they usually prefer? (heavy editing, classic, direct address, establishing, action, etc.)
For Magazine:
What age are they?
What magazines do they like?
How do they usually read magazines? (online, paper version, digital devices, etc.)
What kind of content they usually enjoy in the magazine genre you chose? (ex. articles, editorials, art mixed with information, etc.)
In which of the following groups do they think they fit into: explorer, aspirer, succeeder, reformer, mainstream, struggler, resigned?

*Note the fact that it is not compulsory to get so many responses, even having more than 100 would not necessarily reflect the reality. This task is more of a simulation, for you to understand what kind of characteristics you can look into when thinking of your target audience, and get some ideas that can help you build your film opening/magazine.
